the install isnt all that hard, just your basic tools are needed, far as the strut compressor, you can rent one for free at autozone (leave deposit, get it back when returned). i followed a guide i found on the m5 forums, i was going to write a tutorial but i did the install myself and couldn't find time to take photos and take notes, just focused on getting it done. although a extra hand would come in handy when putting in the 3 strut bolts, i honestly dont know how i did it the first time by myself.

but if a local member is willing to help, i would take on the offer, even tho i dont have professional experience, ive been working on cars since i was 16, so about 10 years now and suspension was always my interest. just do your homework, ask questions, and you should do fine.

pjinca and bimmerspeed, I was wondering if you would mind sharing those detailed instructions with me. I'm looking to tackle this on my '04 530 with a variable steering/sport package and I've read elsewhere that the spring compressors one can rent are not adequate to do the job. Thanks!
