Decided to change up some things for some of my interior trim! Specifically, redo the steering wheel trim, iDrive knob, steptronic shifter, and shifter trim. I went with Rust-Oleum brand Ultra Cover 2x Primer & Paint... gloss black and gloss clear coat. I sanded everything down with a red scotch brite pad... 4 coats of gloss black, and 4 coats of gloss clear.

Disassembly... prep... and tape...

Then put down 4 coats of paint and 4 coats of clear. During painting, I waited about 5 minutes per coat for paint... and about 10-12 minutes per coat for clear. Both were fast drying.

Quick sneak peak... removed the tape before it dried completely. I will take pics once everything back in the car.

Can't wait to install the steering wheel. Still waiting on my SSG LCI paddle shifters that I sent to Motive Mods to have the harness modified and wired up. I also recently received my new custom leather cover from East Detailing, which I'll need to take time to install and sew myself.

Steering wheel I picked up from ebay... Sports wheel w/ paddle shifters and heat. That is what the steering wheel trim used to look like.

New custom leather cover I'll sew in once I have time!

The guy who was doing my exhaust accidently put a couple marks on the newly painted trim. Hoping it comes out with wet sand... then polish it up.

Thanks to a local shop... they cut out my old resonator and installed dual resonators... then piping from each one to each side of the car to dual tips.

Finally took some time to stitch the new custom leather cover from East Detailing. Was actually pretty easy, just time consuming. Fitted the newly painted trim too... just waiting on my shift paddles. Once I get them back, I may paint them or cerakote them blue to match the BMW roundel and my blue push start button.

Fitment was perfect. Had to stretch it over the steering wheel... then placed the adhesive tape around the edges to make sure it doesn't slip. Had to stretch the leather a few places to make sure it closes tightly.

Took some time to replace my plastic jack points under the car. They were pretty torn up. Also picked up a set of 4 aluminum jack point pads.
