He's only replacing his bulbs not converting them to real HIDs so there shouldn't be any error codes.

It seems that way. The new E90 has the same effect/white color tone as the Angelibrights and are approved for DLR lights - since they're brighter - which i'm interested in (apart from looking cool). The FL E60 will use the same technology.

I'm assuming that this new technology would mean different circuitry so I'm also guessing that you couldn't just use these new bulbs as plug-n-play into the old existing harness of our current cars. I'd bet it would cause error codes..etc..
