Put ENVY in chrome on the back of your trunk instead! Hahahahaha! LOL! Where is that member these days??? I wish I got a chance to see this car in person. That was just too funny.

Al, if I ever get my set of blacked-out "545i" from Bimmian, this is how I plan on installing it:
  1. Using a small strip of balsa wood (or similar material, but cleanly cut) align it for the base of the numbers.
  2. Use a level if necessary. Tape the support piece in place.
  3. Based on equidistant measurement from the base and right-edge of the trunk, start with the "i".
  4. Use a 2nd-piece of narrower wood, appropriately sized for the spacing between each number/letter, for spacer.
  5. Tape the 2nd-support piece in place. Install the "i" character.
  6. This should get you started with the 1st-character.
  7. Repeat steps 2-5 for the remaining numbers. Work your way from right to left.
I'll try to come up with a diagram when I get into work today ...
Yeah Frank, like THOSE are ever going to be produced!! (I'm also waiting for those....damned number 4!).

I've rebadged my M5 twice now. Here's what I did:

1. Go to your nearest dealership.
2. Find your model car on the lot.
3. Bring a piece of paper and a pencil.
4. Mark down the distances from top to bottom and side to side and width between each letter. Just use slash marks to identify distances. No need to use numerical values.
5. Align blue painters tape as your circumference on the trunk of your car, where the badge is to be placed (you'll be using this tape as your guide and will be placing your lettering inside the tape).
6. Use a level to make sure the placement of your tape is not lop-sided and even.
7. Use the paper you copied the distances and widths on and mark those edges onto the blue painters tape.
8. Peel backing of lettering
9. Take a hairdryer and heat up the backside of each letter, just prior to mounting.
10. Use the tape as a guide and place your lettering, based on the markings on your tape.
11. Pull tape off and whola! All done!
All valid methods!! but....
