[You've convinced me.? I think I'll be on my way to order them and have them installed...don't want the gravel from our So Cal drive in Mailibu to ruin my paint!

Just as bad as the gravel are the mud splashes. I ran through a very small mud puddle yesterday with the black X3 I had just cleaned up. That brown mud on highly polished black spoiled the whole thing. It wouldn't have been nearly as bad with mud flaps if at all.

Typically, I would say no, but with a black car, you will not see them. I really object to light color cars with black mud flaps.
What color flaps do you get for titanium silver? Or is black the only option? Any pics of a ti silver car with flaps?

definitely NO way man. it is 2006 and E60 is no truck
beside if the car gets dirty because of rain and mud on the road, it will get dirty regardless the mud flaps

I may have created a thread on this earlier, but... thinking of doing Mud Flaps all around.. OEM... I have Jet Black, so they would blend nicely.

question is, for those who have done it,

do they fit well?
do they scrape the road?
do they look good?
are they functional?

thanks.
My opinion is :

They do fit very well.
They do not scrape the road, so far.
Look good or not is a very personal question. I say that it looks good.
They function very well in Boston winter, so far.

well I'm not concerned about the car getting dirty. More like what cidair said about rock and stone chips. I will be forced to drive occasionally on some brutal roads! So this is a concern I hadn't thought about!!

After a year and a half. I still have not put on the flaps like I planned...however, no chips or scratches...I'm sure the black paint hides what could be asphalt, but I sure don't see them. Then again, it doesn't rain much on So Cal. I still don't think it looks bad...even on the lighter cars.
