I paid about $400 for the painted part, I think.

The part comes from Europe, so shipping worldwide shouldn't be a problem.

RoverActive is an eBay store that sells Rover and BMW OEM and aftermarket accessories. Here's a link to one of their listings of the M5 Trunk Finisher:

I know this has been posted in a couple different places...and maybe in this thread and I'm missing it...having said all that: what is the part number for the Euro piece, can I order it through a U.S. dealer and is there an ETA on the U.S. spec piece

TIA

Chris

See the ETK page below for both the primed and painted part numbers (yellow highlighted lines.....scroll all the way to the right for the part numbers). You can order the primed one through US dealers, but not the painted one.

My Trunk lid finisher arrived yesterday & it is in for painting, & will be ready on Tuesday

RodyBMW or anyone else who's installed the part, did you use any bolts to attach the part or just the tape?

Thanks.

I hope theres some bolts... I'm kinda uneasy about attaching stuff with just tape... especially with somthing this big for so long.

Mine came only with tape.
There are holes for bolts but I am not sure if there are already holes in the trunk in the same place.

I have not ordered the trunk finisher yet, but I think it is held on by the two sided adhesive tape and the two license plate screws (see ETK picture a few posts above). Honestly I think that it is mainly held in place with the adhesive tape. Who knows...maybe if there was no need for the mounting of the license plate maybe they would not have put those holes in at all. I have used these types of double sided tapes a lot and if they are high quality ones and are applied correctly they are very strong and reliable.
