But any questions, shoot them my way. Its very simple. just very tedious to do. If you read the posts later, I break it down a bit more.

OK, so I now have my mirrors thanks to xBMWx.
The conection they have are
I have been reading plenty over the last few weeks im thinking to do what aristent says, but then this means I will only have the current fuctions that I have at the moment. Which is just heated,
Am I correct in thinking that I would then need to create my own loom to the door lights for the puddle lights and the same for the power fold?
I have not yet removed my door panel so not sure what connection I have there, although I believe its the single connector.

Yes, even if you use the newer M5 mirror matching your year you can only use function you have I think the mirror ecu is controlled by the body gateway module via CAN bus link so if the main module only know you have heat other feature will not work.
And correct for the puddle light ... you need a pair from the door light down below (or at least one if you ground the mirror light locally) and maybe another pair for the fold in/out (not sure since I haven't re-wire folding yet).
AFAIK post 9/05 we use single plug w/ 3 wires for on the mirror. So the re-wiring using the original motor only needed like your case using older mirror on newer built car but no advantage to gain other functions.
GL!
