M5 Mirrors - It's all about curb appeal!

I know this one has been posted before but I'm so damn proud that I finally got around to doing this mod, I figured I would post a few pics and show-off the finished product. My wife hardly notices the difference but to me these mirrors and the originals are world's apart.
I picked up the M5 replica mirrors from NVDautosport back in mid-June and had them painted at European Autobody last week. The install was a bit of a challenge given that you've got to take the door panel apart, remove the old mirrors, temporarily remove the wire-harness wires from the connector housing, transfer the innards into the new mirrors (motor, heater etc), align and stick the glass and then re-install the new mirrors and replace the trim etc.
As a point to note, these mirrors do not have puddle lights and do not auto-fold but in terms of shear curb appeal, I think they do the trick!!!

(01) First shot is the door panel taken apart and the wire harness disconnected.
(02) Second shot shows the removal of the three hex screws which hold the mirror to the door frame.
(03) View with the mirrors removed.
(04) A side-by-side comparison.
(05) Dislodging the clips in the old mirror which hold the housing in place. (There are 4 screws also which were previously removed).

Thanks guys. The pictures above of the mirrors on the car really don't do it justice. Once I get a chance to clean her up this weekend I'll take a few more shots with better angles etc. My paint shop did have to do some minor touch-up to the mirrors with Bondo and re-primed before shooting the final color as there was a bit of "pitting" in some areas prior to re-finishing. Nothing beats OEM, but I'm very happy with how these turned out, and given that I'm a bit of a perfectionist you can take my word for it.

To answer your question, it took me about three hours from start to finish but if I had to do it again, I'm sure I could cut that time in half. Approximately 2-1/2 hours was spent on the first door and disassembly/assembly of the mirrors themselves. I also dropped a screw between the door panel and spend a bit of time getting it out.
