Alex, whether you find a M5/M6 cluster, you're good to go. The ebay link I have above states "M5/M6" ! => so the same.

Correct Rudy as per realoem.

nonetheless, I used the torx screws from my stock instrument cluster and fitted fine on the m5 cluster - don' know why BMW gave different part no.'s on the screws...
Yeah, that's kind of what I figured -- I was just having some fun since it seemed silly to me that the clusters were the same but the screws that cost about a dime were different...

It's a penny different. Probably, it's a premium for M6

Dare anyone desolder the Siemen chip inside of your current instrument cluster boad and swab it to ///M odometer board? That could solve the gearing/dot/VIN problem. However, the speed and tach scales are questionable

Oh. Shiet! "BLACK" Odometer? Hmm.
We'll see if it lights up
Cannot wait.

Nick/Andy,
Is is possible if you can take high resolution picture of both instrument cluster board inside? Some production number on the board will be helpful since it might indicate that both M and non-M board are the same.

Thanks,
Fred
