My Ride: 2007 550i (Sport, Prem, Nav, Logic7, Comf. Seats) Black on Black
The V1 is nice, however check it against the Escort/Passport 9500ix. It has very similar detection times and distances, however it learns and weeds out false alarms. The only time I got pulled over with my radar on was because I thought it was a false alarm. I think I made my mind up to go with the 9500ix over the V1 tonight, just because of the reduction of false alarms. Per an independent review.... "Next up was the Passport 9500i, its settings unchanged. After completing an identical circuit, we had a direct comparison of their behavior in town. The scores were Valentine One: 51 total falses and 81 bogeys, Escort 9500i: 0 falses, 0 bogeys." the review was from the older 9500i model http://www.radartest...rticleid=100578

I have the Passport with the gps. I like it.
But you don't have protection from laser with either maker and IMO that's the one that usually gets you.
Choice is yours either the V1 (solid feedback from users on this forum) or the Passport w/ GPS, I do like the ability to lock out the false signals.
Good luck.

My Ride: SOLD...Jet Black 2008 550i M Sport with SAT, black interior. RPI exhaust and air scoop, 35% huper optik tint all around, CF roundels, flat black kidneys, Springfield Armory XD-40 jet black in glove box, charcoal filter removed.
+1 on the passport 9500. I have it in my car and its saved me countless times in the past 5 months I've had it.
The V1 is good, but dated in my opinion. You will hear almost nothing but props for it on here, you HAVE to independently research on the web and make the best decision for you, based on the facts.
Personally, I chose the passport 9500. You may decide differently.

Exactly, but be prepared to pay to play.
The OP's original post "I'm tired of getting stupid speeding tickets, not for the money if not for the going to court time wasting bulls**t." is lame, since he obviously has no concept of cause/effect.
Don't speed = no court time wasting BS.
Speed = court time wasting BS
Back on topic...the V1 is great, as everyone else has said, however, it's no substitute for just plain common sense and paying attention. I was tagged at triple digit speeds with the red car and the V1 fully functional. No radar warning...he just estimated the speed.
Again...don't bitch and whine. You play...you pay.
