A red light camera ticket will cost $300 plus depending on the city.

I know this one guy with an e46 coupe that he's had for a couple years. Well he has yet to put his license plates on and still drives around with the dealer tags. He's even mentioned that he's been pulled over a few times, but has had no problems with the plates.
Not really sure how it works, but I guess that would be one way to avoid all these camera tickets.....just remove your license plate

In the UK, drivng with no plates is a good way to get locked up until you prove ownership of the car. Then a fine for not displaying the plates.

I'm surprised that a company like 3M doesn't make something that would work.
I have a screen on my monitor at work that is a thin transparent film the looks completely black from any angle other than straight on. It's very effective and thin. If you could incorporate this film into a license plate cover, then the only way a camera would work is if straight behind you and at the same height.
Maybe I need to invent such a product... hmmm... PATENT PENDING!!! NO ONE STEAL THIS IDEA.
Seriously, though, I have seen in parking lots cars with those plastic blurr-covers, and they do work from an angle (you can't make out the letters at all), but the issue is whether the cameras are coming from an angle or more straight behind, in which case it wouldn't work.

You own a 50K car and you try and beat a 50 cent toll? What up?
He has a $150k car and he'd like to use it properly on the road .
