There is also a spray that you can buy to simply spray over your plates. I understand that 3 coats does the trick, and your plate looks the same to everyone else.

I have seen the stuff discussed in other forums.

False. I have a license plate cover which obscures the view to the naked eye, not just cameras. It works from the side, or above. Perfect for beating photo tickets.
i beg to differ...its a gimmick. Feel free to waste your money though

Since I have been busted (again), I have been thinking about a non-obvious way to 'camouflage' the licenseplate. I haven't found a solution yet. Has anyone a brilliant idea???? Let me know I'm interested!
I have heard of people spraying their plates with hish gloss finish to promote glare?

If you check out the forums about avoiding speedcam tix there is lots of conjecture around different solutions, including the spray (1/2 of the feedback you will see talks about it turning plates a yellow color). It appears, that at best, the films or plastic covers tricking the cameras into under exposed or over exposed conditions, dont work (think of it as a $300 to $500 gamble that I doubt the manufacture will back you on - and you already put up the 60.00 to 90.00 in good faith!). The higher the contrast on the plate in backing vs. numbers (like TX plates for example) is only going to make it more difficult to beat the camera.

Summarizing the feedback "out there" on the web, there is about a 70/30 ratio to the "it doest work state". As such, Im sure a lot of forum members will have pretty spirited opinions either way on this issue. I will say that 60.00 to 90.00 seems like a lot of money for a gimmick that has very shakey reviews about saving one in a ticket situation...in fact, it appears that the only things that actually work are illegal themselves (radar jammers).

LOL

Just replied to your other post about getting caught speeding and then saw this one! I guess driving slower is simply not an option! (-Don't answer that question!)

Cheers

A speed camera ticket can cost $200 plus depending on the city. A red light camera ticket will cost $300 plus depending on the city. I'm not running red lights or anything like that but speed camera tickets can add up quickly and everyone driving an E60 knows that speeding is an easy thing to do.
Anyone consider this? Driving Slower?

Helps avoid getting busted.
