My Ride: 2007 E60 550i Black/Sand. Dinan free flow intake, throttle body, carbon fiber strut brace, and exhaust. Carbon fiber engine cover. Blend mount for a Belltronics RD w/mirror tap. Smoke LED taillights. Projector fog-lites w/HID kit.

Well I'm far from an expert but i would think there would be plusses and minuses. Air gets trapped in that cavity and whatever pressure exists im sure aids in assisting air into the airbox. On the other hand extra air in the engine bay would add cooling to the engine area. Who knows?
