Do you have a DIY ? looks good
Removing the taillight was pretty straight forward .. 4 small (8mm i think) bolts hold it on. Wiring harness is direct plug in - there's only one and you'll see that clearly. This is one of the part replacements that BMW makes very easy. Be sure to align the replacement carefully before tightening the bolts - there is a little wiggle room so it fits nicely. And pay attention to the weatherseal gasket - it is stuck in place on the replacement.

Good luck - I also PM'ed you with the ebay stores where I bought mine. And I added the reminder to sign up for MrRebates (link in bottom of my signature) for another 1% rebate. It's not a bunch of money but does add up if you are planning to do any e-shopping for the holidays!

Good Luck!

Lou

Hey, could you PM me the stores as well?

This looks like a fantastic mod. Wouldn't mind doing this.

I love LED's!

Revotec was the ebay store for the taillight and premiertek was the ebay store I got the LED RED bulbs.

Remember, if you shop ebay by going thru MR REBATES (Link in my signature) you get a 1% rebate too. I also saw that ebay has a holiday discount special posted.

When I bought mine I got another 10% paypal discount. I'm not cheap but I do hunt

Good shopping! If you go with the lights be sure to tell saisai at REVOTEC you saw it here!

Next I will try an LED Replacement for the amber turn signal bulb and see if that functions correctly without additional resisters being added. That won't get on my "to-do" list until December.
I'm thinking of doing this mod - same as you did with aftermarket lights from Revotec and the 39 led red bulb upgrade. I presume you have had no obc errors....have you tried the turn signal upgrade yet ???

I have not done the LED turn signals yet.

That lamp bulb socket has the offset pins so my plan to temporarily use the brake lamp LED to test need for resistors won't work. That said, everything I've read about LED turn bulbs leads me to conclude that resistors would be needed. So, for now, to eliminate the egg yolk look I may just silver the amber bulbs.

Luigi524td , looks good man

I just wish , they made the whole thing with LED's, i went Bruces direction, and Im really enjoying it.

Like some one said up in the posts , " Its the size that matters". true, but its its large and Ugly, It aint gonna work!!!

Not saying its bad, but I just wish they made the whole thing LED, its either turn LED or brakes, LED, not both combined, DAMN DESIGNERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't disagree with you -- I have Hyundai and Ford drivers behind me critiquing my BMWs all the time!
