I have been reading the reviews on the JB3 and there has been nothing but rave reviews for it. Apparently the JB3 just turns the I6TT into a BEAST that pulls like nobodies business.
The only thing that makes me nervous about it is the 15 psi of boost it gets the turbos up to. That is some pretty series stress on those turbos. I question the long term reliability of the turbo engine with the JB3. I guess if you were gunning it all the time vs. gunning only from time to time, that would make a difference of if and when the turbos or crank will fail.
Does anybody know if the JB3 remaps the the other engine's features that keeps the turbos and engine as cool as possible?
Dinan may be $1300 more, but they claim to remap all the engine funtions to "safetly" increase boost. Plus, I believe their boost remap is around 9 psi.
Then again, JB3 has a lower boost mode of the software you can run if you are too nervous to run @ 15psi. I just salivate thinking about running my I6TT at near M5 performance with this type of boost/remap.
Knowing my luck, I will get this mode a blow my engine. I guess it boils down to what type of relationship you have with your SA/dealership. I have a great one with mine and my family has bought at least 10 cars from them over the past 5 years. If they want to keep me happy, they will report any engine damage to BMW NA as a warranty issue and not b/c of any mods I have done. That is what the delaership has told me anyway. Maybe I am dreaming but doesn't that sound reasonable?
I am interested in your thoughts about all the above. Thanks

I am unsure about the JB3 but I do know the Active Processor Software remaps the boost and fuel parameters within the stock internal limits to ensure that power output and modification does not over extend the engine.
We have this installed on our E92 335 and I must say, I am extremely impressed with the improvement. It's noticeable across the entire band but does not detract from the car's smooth power gain. There is no lag and no spooling, just like the stock setup, so the car is strong in any rev range.
