I just got the MOST ipod adapter installed at the dealer on my 2004 530i and it works great. The only problem is that I can't tell if it's charging the ipod. The BMW logo comes up but the Battery indicator doesn't show that it's charging.

A Question for anyone else that has this setup. Does the Battery Charging indicator show that it is charging?

I have a 6 Gig ipod mini - Just so that I am clear when my ipod is connected to my computer the Battery Level indicator moves from left to right in a sweeping motion indicating that it is charging. When it is connected in the Glove box I see the BMW logo and the Battery Level does not move. I haven't gone for any long drives so it is difficult to determine if it is actually draining the battery of the ipod, but it does appear to be doing so.

Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

Not familiar with the iPod Mini, but my iPod Nano charged in my old 545 with the adaptor in the glove box. Don't have the car anymore so can't confirm whether the battery indicator was showing charge or not! But when I would remove the iPod for travel etc, it was fully charged.

 

No -- you will not see the charging icon. I have a new 7G iPod and all you get to see is the BMW logo.
BUT -- when you turn your car off, you should see the battery sign pop up as the ipod continues to draw power. So you know for sure it's charging when the vehicle is turned off and the ipod is plugged into the MOST jack....
