Hi and few upgrade questions
#1
Hi all,
Just got myself a nice 520D SE from the UK (I'm Irish) and I'm liking it so far. The spec is relatively low but still decent enough but just two parts I want to change.
1. The radio is the base model and coming from a Passat which had a quality 6 cd with 6 inch woofers on every door its a real dissapointment in the sound quality terms. Can I go to BMW to upgrade? I'd be willing to pay a good bit as I know they are seriously expensive on the spec list. Don't want to go aftermarket as its a 9 month old warrantied car.
2. The alloys are the base run flats, 17 inch. I don't think they are too bad but the car looks pretty mean in black with the privacy windows so maybe another inch and a more tasteful alloy would be suitable.
What would you reccomend style wise? Get BMW or replica? Leave the runflats?
Thanks in advance.

Congrats on the new (to you) car Buddy and enjoy the forums!! As for the RFT's most of us here have ditched them for better performing, better riding and less expensive regular tires, as for replica wheels or OEM, that is dictated by personal taste and budget. Have fun Modding your car!!

1) Not sure how much or how the dealer can do to upgrade the OEM radio. If I were you, I'd consider the aftermarket options.
2) Check out VMR and get the 19"
Other mods to consider, shadowline trims, tints for front windows (not sure if its legal in UK), sprint booster.
Happy Modding!!

For the wheels, I recommend upgrading to a set of replicas. There is no reason to pay for OEM wheels when you can get replicas of the same strength and quality for much cheaper. Check out the CSL replicas we have in 18" or 19":
