If it is really bad (this sounds stupid but it happens a lot) make sure they put the calipers on the right side, bleeder on top.
But most likely they got some air in the lines by the ABS unit and need to power bleed it.

Hello!
No reason to think the M5 brakes don't work on 530i.
Rebleed the circuit and have a (slow) spin somewhere around the shop and try to brake pretty hard: in some minutes it should improve the braking.
To bleed... A shop should know everything.
PS:
Recently I received a letter from BMW... To check the brake pump (my car is MY2005).
Am I the only one? I don't think so, as the E60 for out market were all made in Dingolfing.

I had the bad booster and it wasn't the problem you're describing here- the pedal became very hard to press, not too soft as air in the system would cause. if your pedal is really soft and goes all the way to the floor, it is a definite sign the shop didn't get all of the air out of the lines. Make sure they bleed all 4 brakes and check for leaks.

I called the shop this moening, they have tried "bleed" the brake several ways and the result is the same.
The brake pedal is very SOFT and it brakes VERY SOFTLY.
Don't know what the problem could be, any suggestions?
