I've found on past 5's that if I didn't have it roadforce balanced there would be a slight wobble in the steering wheel. The proper road force balance was the only thing to ever work to remedy this situation (I replaced all kinds of bushings etc.). It sucks paying that much I agree but I always had problems with regular balancing on my E39's. I have yet to experience the E60 with either way.

You could do it the cheap way first. If you have a wobble, you know what to do..

Yes, I'll probably go with the cheap way first and if it vibrates, then I'll do the Road Force balance. I can't imagine the majority of the E60 owners here with aftermarket rims road balance their wheels and I searched this forum and only found a few people with vibration issues. And some of those issues weren't even fixed with road force balance, but using a different kind of hub rings rather.

It's a method of computer balance that applies a force against the tire to mimick it being on the actual road. Kind of like a suspended dyno machine. lol
That's actually a pretty good description.

Ok, my 2 cents.

At about 60km's I get a tiny vibration through the steering wheel. I'm riding on my 19" CSL's and they were not Road Force balanced. Coilovers are coming on next week and the wheels and tires and going to get balanced properly.

So +1 for Road Balance, might cost a bit more but will make a big difference.
