and replaced with straight pipes leaving 3rd resonator and stock cans in place. This seems like an ez way to start rather than paying $1,500 for a replacement muffler.

I would be interesed in finding out if it made a nicer V8 sound than stock and if any cabin resonance was experienced. I have heard a soundclip with the resonators removed thru a dinan muffler (jetblack) and it was nice. Just wondering if the stock cans come alive at all.

Based on my expeirence I think you will like it. If you do get a drone just go str8 pipes all the way through. This might be my next mod and then I will sedn you my muffler hows that?

JetBlack,
Not sure sure if you want to go straight pipes from the cats. torquey5 deleted his mufflers but kept the three resonators and it's LOUD.

Well it is a bolt on muffler so I can remove test it and put it back on. My main concern is that the HOA will get to many complaints. Other than that I dont mind loud, if it sounds GOOD

jet,
That sounds like a real plan. Are you thinking you need more sound than you have now? I like the sound of your clip. I cannot imagine what striaht pipes would sound like.

If you do decide to scrap your dinan can, let me know.

You are certainly bold, jet. I would think your HOA, local police, small chidren, senior citizens and pets would have an issue with straight pipes. Be sure and do a sound clip if you get the itch tho.

Besides loudness, how does it sound tone-wise?
Got sound clip?

I'll have to ask torquey5. I'm sure he has a sound clip. If you've heard the Eisenmann M5 Race exhaust, well that is what the 550i V8 sounds like without its mufflers.
