back on topic.. I got a tint ticket a while back and i just took it off and paid nothing. Mine was 35%. Funny thing is that im going back today to get the whole car redone
I cant stand my car without tints.

funny thing is when i questioned the 2 tix she said "your lucky i didnt give you 5".

most likely they gonna make u pay the fine..u don't have to take ure tints offf...but if u get pulled over for them again..fines goes up...cop wont show up at the courtroom...they don't have to...usually cops don't bother with the tints until it's first week of the month and towards the end of the month...

SORRY FOR DOUBLE POSTING!!!....this guy the other day told me that u can get a permit for tints...thru dmv and your eye doctor has to approve it...their is a limit of what percent they let u slide with and u get this card from the dmv and if u get pulled over show it the piggy....somebody should check that out..

Most states no longer require the cops to show up in court for traffic tickets. I can't say definitely about NY, but in NJ the cop doesn't have to show up. Most of the time the prosecutor will plea the ticket(s) down. Show up to court, and perhaps they will merge the 2 into one and you'll just be stuck for $90.

Here in Rhode Island the law does not allow aftermarket tint on private passenger cars. (SUVs can be as dark as you want excluding the windshield and front seats). pretty lame law imo.
If you are stopped and ticketed for tint in RI you must show up in court and have your vehicle with you (in the parking lot). A sherrif's deputy then confirms that the tint has been removed. What a pain ! You cannot just pay the fine - you MUST remove the tint or face license suspension.
In NY, do you have to remove the tint in lieu of a fine or is it all over once you pay the fine ???
Too bad they don't pursue actual criminals. :thumbsdown:
