Here's a post from m5board, where a tuner did a few dyno runs on an M5.

Of course there is going to be a gain .... nice to see Active Autowerke provide some proof (albeit for an M5).

These are not huge gains ... but they are FREE ... and they are surprisingly noticeable. I bet the engine management software was never tweaked to account for these additional filters, and now the engine runs as it should.

Here's a test for skeptics:
1) stick cotton balls up your nose
2) run 5k
3) remove cotton balls
4) run another 5k

Notice any difference? Class dismissed.

I agree--not huge--but free!

I'll try that cotton ball test and report back...

Wow. Now, let's hope Znod will figure out how much weight saving is required per 1 hp gain equivalence

Good one!

Maybe the hp increase came from getting rid of the excess weight of that heavy filter and not from more airflow.

I tried the cotton ball test. No difference since I breath through my mouth during the 1 mile run.

Now you tell me. This is probably why I can't ever finish an ultra-marathon and poop out at the 50 mile marker ...

It works, just standing up and sitting down and then up and then down and then up......

Right, that's why I put my shorty antenna on the Z06.
