Wow...I can't believe this thread is still going. I guess I won't be going with the new, rear tail lights afterall. Seems like too much of a pain.

for sure, it is not 61 13 3 333 333 or 61 12 0 153 650.
bruce says it is 61 12 0 140 223.
now i'm not too sure. 12527519956?

The LCI plug part# is: 12527519956, $0,50 thing, but keep in mind that it is not for permanent use, because when Bruce make the adapter or, when retrofit kit will be available by BMW, you will need then your current (pre-LCI) plug in order to install the kit. So write down the wire colors, on which pin numbers of the plug they fit (on each side) before you dismantle it, and keep the old plugs in place.
But anyway, I have done this, so there is no problem, they're all the same, I'll be your assistance.![Thumbsup](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/thumbsup.gif)

nick, thanks for clarifying it. the 61 12 0 140 223 --is the cable+plug all in one? the cable bruce made, is a combination of various parts?
i think it will be a long while before bmw will release a retrofit+taillights in the states. Even then, we get the ugly red turn signal LEDs! why did bmw decided to go with red turn signal(US specs) instead of having the same amber color as europe?

As my friend Andy mentioned here, they will release it at around the end of July - first half of August, but I believe that even then, the 3 tailight bulbs will be always "on" along with the rods, unlike the LCI seem it is functioning. Let's wait and see

Nick and everyone else who has been working on this R & D for the LCI-look-ligths - thanks!!!
I am about to order the lights and will connect them according to Nicks second version of the diagramme + taking out inner lightbulb, if Bruce has not developed and finished his new updated version of the LCI-cable until I receive the rearlights.
Nick, have you just taken out the inner lightbulb...?
Cheers

Nick; Yes the outer ones of course...:>
Since you have a error message in your onboard computer an yways, what happends if you take out that 'inner' bulb as well?
Have you tried?
Or perhaps the 'leds' will burn up since the resistant cannot cope with the extra power...?
In relation to Bruce's plug and play cable all three bulb are alight and dimmend, perhaps I should buy his cable and then take out the outer and inner lightbulbs to get the LIC-look.
Bruce; Have you tried to have you cable (adapter) connected to your LIC-leds and then taken out the bulbs like Nick? Would be interesting to see what happeneds, and though you might get an errormessage, we might get the LIC-look we are all looking for.....
