Do you have comfort/multi-contour seats??
Isn't it obvious that he doesn't?

Couldn't be easier.

Just remove the old ones and slide in the new ones.

The new headrest come with a wire in one of the tubes (for the connection of the anti-whiplash mechanism), but you just leave the wire and slide in the headrest.

It's as easy as removing your old headrest and re-installing it.
Are you saying, you leave the anti-whiplash disconnected?

My 2007 LCI e60 which was made in july 2007 came with the basic headrest (the joke ones !!!).

Your right, I ordered the 2009 e60's Standard/Sports seats headrests (400? a pair).

I just installed them in my 2007 LCI e60.

They fit perfectly !!! And it makes a big difference !!!
Can you post pictures please??

They are great... fold them in and your head rests comfortably on the side... Perfect for having a sleep while doing 70mph in the fast lane

Never had this problem in my E39. Now those were sport seats.

Me either- they were sporty and extremely comfortable at the same time. They weren't power adjustable but I didn't care. It stayed forward the whole time

Has anyone tried retrofitting an E39 headrest onto an E60?

Here you go, those of us whose head can't comfortably "rest" on the headrest without looking down our noses at the road,,,are there any aftermarket solutions that may fit over our headrests and add about 3-4" so that I can sit in the seat and REALLY have a headrest instead of an anti-whiplash pad...?

Just asking -of course I may be the only one that has a bent enough spine that my head does not even come close to being able to rest on the headrest..?

Thanks for your ideas board-buds!
Wack yourself on back of head until swelling starts. Might even get some side effects. LOL

I know exactly what you mean, this has always been a problem to me too ( standard seats ). The only car I have been in where the headrest is actually near your head is my wifes Saab. They could sure show BMW a thing or two about a good driving position. What I would give to have that cars seats in my E60!.

If that is our biggest problem with our cars, thank God.

you can find the seats on ebay i am sure. junkyards might be hit or miss, as there arent a ton of e60s junked. you better believe the used parts guys (the ones that make a business out of it) are stripping the e60s as they come in and charging an arm and a leg for the parts

you right that's what i suspected.. they probably have an arrangement with the junkyards and once e60 comes in they take valuable parts.

those seats cost a fortune
