I am at the point of giving up and going back with CCC and just get a nice android unit.
If anybody is looking for the whole set including combox, cables etc let me know. In the next couple of weeks, I am going take out all CIC related from the car.
Have no interest in spending any more time or money on this. Rather would spend that on a nice android unit (like AVIN unit) that has no fuss capability of adding cameras and more.

Finally I got my CIC navigation to work and am able to update maps to 2021 successfully.
The key is, since I am about to remove full CIC setup from my car, I reinstalled the original HDD into the headunit but didnt get a chance to remove all the CIC stuff from the car and had to drive it to another place. Suddenly noticed on my way back that my navigation is working![Embarrassment](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/ohmy.gif)
Came home, cloned it to the SSD and installed the SSD back in the car, tried to update the maps from original 2018 to 2021, same error as before, USB unreadable, tried two different USBs and 2020 and 2021 maps with same result. Then swapped back original HDD and the udpate worked without any issues. Well, all these months I am being stupid enough not to try the original HDD. Once SSD started working, I was able to expand music volume to max as well and everything seems to be working even after CIC reboot multiple times and after a long sleep of the car as well.
Now its time to code combox, can someone be kind enough to give me a hand on this coding? here are my FA and CIC files.

You have to change options in ssd file to your car and where xxxxxxxxx there should be your vin number. With this ssd file , code just cic and combox.

Thanks, good to see that you used E91 SSD vs E90. Mine is almost fully loaded except for night vision and ACC.
Is it OK to write our VIN in E91 SSD, I mean doesnt the software know that the VIN is not a valid E91 one?
Should we load E89/90/91 daten files as well?
Should we write our VIN to Combox before doing any of the above?
Just want to make sure I wont mess up this time

Yes i use my VIN its ok. When i updated sp daten , i did it for all chassis, so i dont need to use or load e89 sp daten. Ncsexpert gets what it needs.
i just load ssd file. Code cic, combox. Code cic again with my shared fsw_psw file. In my case thats it.

So, just to be sure, no need to write our vin to Combox using Tool32?
This might be lame question, how would one properly update daten for multiple chassis? when you use BMW coding tool to update daten files, it asks whether you want to backup existing data, I always select no since I only load for E60.

You can write your vin to combox using tool32, but i think its not necessary. Because i writed a lot difference vin nr then i was trying to code BMW live and internet, and that doesnt changed anythink. Just write it it always better have your vin in modules.
