What is the offset for 2004 545i with sport package? I assume front and rear are different? So if I want to get a set of 17" rims for winter, other than bolt pattern (5x120) and offset, what else do I need to look out for?

Rear offsets are only different if the rears are wider.
If you buy a winter set of e.g. 8x17 all round the offset and tyre size will be the same on all 4 wheels. On an 8x17 ET20 is perfectly fine and what an original 8x17 BMW wheel for your car would be.

Yes, the PCD is 5/120. The offsets should be stamped inside the wheels and if you want to give a potential buyer even more info you could measure the centre bore of the wheel, so the know if they will also fit E39's (74.1mm) or only the BMW's with the 72.6 bore
