I have ordered a 545i with the sport package in silver gray with black seats. I'm interested in the aluminum trim but am concerned about the apparent pattern it displays. Has anyone seen it and is the pattern a plus or a problem. Thanks for any info.

Thomas,

Unfortunately the picture did not open properly when I opened your message. Could you try again? I have seen the picture posted earlier on this board and the pattern photographs pretty prominent. Have you seen the anthracite trm in person and what were your impressions?

Thanks

Here is a new try with the picture! Well here comes my very personal opinion; I have seen the titanium, maple (anthracite) and poplar. The one I don't like is the poplar trim. It has a very "plastic" feeling that it seems it is picked directly from a cheep Japanese or Korean car with gold logos , it is just to much according to my taste. I prefer the maple, which also is a little bit shiny as the poplar, but it fits the car much better because of its sportier style. All wood panels are in real wood either it is poplar or maple. The aluminum I have only seen on the picture above and I think it has a very avantgarde style, which I like to. It is also slightly cheaper than the woods on my country's market. The titanium has a very subdued color and fits the car quite well, but if you want to have a more fancy car you shall go for the other panels.

I think this is aluminum to:

Thomas,

Thanks for the pictures and your comments. I'm inclined toward the aluminum at this point since I think it enhances the sporty character of the car.
