My dad gave me his old e60 550i, what can i expect out of it and what mods or new things should i add to the car to make it look nicer? also the gas is really expensive so if theres any advice on that id appreciate it!

If you're worried about the cost of gas, wait until you see what repairing a 550 costs! Unless you plan on maintaining this car yourself, I suggest you put aside a sizeable "rainy day fund" for the inevitable repairs before considering any mods.

 

Very good advice. The cost of maintaining my 2005 545 6M with 338K kms runs about 3000 C$ a year. If your car is an automatic, then add 500 $ to that. That is still less expensive than leasing a same performance car. BTW, the N62 is a very fuel efficient engine considering its power.
