no i have no proof... but ill tell u it makes a big diff the cold weather... it says it on the box.. COLD AIR INTAKE...its not for hot air... (COLD AIR).. makes sence... im not sure how cold it will get on the west coast.. but on a cold morning say if it gets this cold by u around 30 to 40f.. try it.. you will fell it.. when you get to that 5,000 rpm and say 4th gear usally this is where the drag starts, in hot weather.. but in the cold weather its very different.... try it..
I said it before and I'll say it again, I understand the need to justify the purchase of the AFE, but there really isn't none.

Let me get this straight. You're okay with it working in the cold (if it really works), but when it's hot you're fine with it not working or are you planing on removing the AFE every summer and putting the stock intake back on?
yes thats what im saying... yes ill put the stock box back in the summer with the RPI scoop, the winter CAI....
You do understand the same principle applies for the stock intake as well? The stock works better in the cold too. Heads up in the cold, my money is on the e60 with stock intake and not the one with AFE.
