Hi all. I have an E60 2005 530i Msport with the Australian base audio system. (No amp, no subs, just small 4 x small speakers powered from HU)
It has CCC head unit with NAV, it has no AUX output in the rear of the centre console.

I have been tirelessly reading through old threads to figure out how to retrofit in amplifier and speakers.
I have SO MANY QUESTIONS. Can somebody experienced help me with this.

My plan is to fit the more powerful MB Quart speakers that are made to fit E60, and power them with a 4 channel amp.

1. Can I tap into power the amp from the boot somewhere?

2. Do I have to fit in a sound signal controller to adjust hi filtered signal for door and parcel shelf speakers?
Or can I just buy an amp with hi pass and low pass filters?

3. Does anyone have any experience with the MB Quart retrofits for the E60?
Are the front and rear types different models?

Australian base audio is the same as european base audio, and it actually has 6 speakers. 4 mid range speakers and 2 woofers under seats.
I have fully upgraded my base audio, but its a rather hard install I do not recommend. Result is awesome though. Price if you buy new is over 1k.
To answers for your questions.
1. Yes, the cars battery is in the right side of the trunk, you can take power from there.
2. If you buy some random amplifier, get one that can get hi input signal.
3. there are a lot of plug % play speakers for e60. Mid range speakers are all same 4 inch and tweeters would be 1 inch. Base audio woofers are 6.5 inch in 8 inch enclosure. Get 8 inch replacements.

Also there are plug & play amplifiers for e60 base audio, like match pp41dsp bmw version. Vibe makes one too.
