I am trying to replace the OEM M5 mirror lower covers with some CF ones, can anyone please tell me how to take them covers out? Do I have to take the entire mirror housing out or just the cover? TIA

I think its best to open the mirrors up to get to these covers. They clip on the underneath of the upper part of the mirror. You dont need to remove them from the car, just get to the inside of the mirror from below the glass and motor.

Thanks Bruce for the suggestion. And I also found a thread in the DIY section which was helpful too.
