Work put me into hell mode after I got the parts installed. Stuff has settled down so I'm calling to schedule the post dyno for sometime next week. I got my R10s installed too in the meantime. I dunno if that will skew the results at all, but I'm guessing anyone who installed the Dinan stuff will probably run aftermarket wheels anyhow.

What is the procedure for performing a DYNO? Don't you have to trick the ECU into thinking the front wheels are rolling too?

plus figure a bit more for the automatic.

15 HP, I heard: a steptronic 545i has 15 HP less than manual/SMG, at the wheels .
But it's faster because of ridicolous long gears of the 6MT/SMG .

All we did is disabled DTC and DSC. The car bitched and hollered about instability, recommend slowing down, etc, on the iDrive screen but it didn't seem to do any rear wheel braking at all during the dyno, since I didn't smell hot brakes and they didn't look hot at all. After the dyno we pulled it off and parked it. When I restarted it it was still warning about instability, but that went away after I turned the car off, then turned the key to position 2 and held the pedal to the floor for 30 seconds, then restarted it. No errors since.

In any case, dyno this week. They're calling me tomorrow to finalize the date and time.

Just got back from my post Dinan dyno. Ambient temp was 77, same as before. HP went down to 273, and in addition my AFRs went from 13.5:1 to around 10-10.5:1. Since I also had iDrive updated during that service visit, it's possible they overwrote the Dinan flash with the stock flash, and the ECU is seeing the extra air flow from the Dinan airbox and throttlebody and richening up the mix, so I'm going to have the dealer confirm the Dinan flash is still on the ECU. Either that or someone in California has "some splainin to do".

Software updates wipe out any remap that was done to the ECU. I'm still waiting to get my ECU remapped again.

I know that, but they assured me they would do it in the right order, etc, etc. I'm guessing they didn't though.

The saga continues. I called my dealer and they said to stop by and they could check to make sure the Dinan flash was still on the ECU, and if it wasn't they'd reflash it on the spot. It showed the Dinan tune as being installed. At this point they're going to schedule a time for me to drop off the car so they can go over it with a fine tooth comb, and I'm assuming, contact Dinan if necessary regarding the issue. Update to follow once that takes place.

Even with similar conditions, it's difficult to compare dyno numbers from different days. Also, if the R10s are heavier, you'll put down less power on the dyno compared with lighter wheels. If the car is faster than before, that's all that matters.
