Default Dension text display question

Hello,

I have the opportunity to purchase a Dension 500S for a very low price from a friend who is selling his E60. I've been doing a lot of research to determine whether it will display track information in my car, but am still not sure.

My car has the non-MP3-capable M-ASK and does not display CD Text information from CDs I play in the drive. However, my understanding is these are limitations of the CD drive itself, not the M-ASK unit as a whole. If I'm correct, I should be able to code the +IPOD option and have a text display from the Dension. I can do my own coding - this is not a problem.

Can anyone please validate this? If I can't have text display, I won't bother since I can just use my AUX input instead.

Thanks

Is this only with the Dension, or even the standard CD player (assuming the CD has CD Text)? So you're saying I click on where it says "Track 1", "Track 2", etc. and then a menu will pop up? Wouldn't this just make the player skip to that track? I will try this, thanks.

By the way, I bought an AUX cable from you earlier this year; working fine.

Just to clarify, when I play a CD that has CD Text, it looks like the picture below (not my actual car - I don't have a CD changer). The "Set" menu only provides access to the bass and treble controls. What should I click on?

Thanks

I am 99% certain that this is correct. If you are doing your own coding then hook up the kit, program the module, and see what happens. Worst case you undo it all and take it back to stock.

Thanks, that sounds encouraging. The issue is that if it doesn't work, I'll have to worry about selling the Dension - possibly at a loss. Oh well, I'll have to see...
