I currently use my dension gateway with my phone and it works well. I had originally bought a 500gb hard drive and connected it with usb, I also had the dension gateway software to index it ahead of time. However it was extremly flaky and would aften lag, I'm guessing because of the size of the disk? My iphone is only 16gb and I'd like more music. So my question is, if I get a 160GB ipod classic to keep in my glove compartment will I have similiar performance to my iphone? Or due to the size will I have the same issues? I'm basically looking for the largest size disk option with the best performance.

I used to run a 160GB iPod through my Dension with no issues. I believe it's because in the case of the iPod, the Dension doesn't do the indexing; it only acts as an interface. So no, you shouldn't have any issues.
