I've an 2005 530d and was thinking I may need the gateway enabler - as my CDC is greyed out? Does the enabler add MP3 / iPod playback? As I think that's what I need coding. Current CD drives don't play Mp3?

it worked for me within a few seconds of installing it - as soon as the light turned green after few seconds my iPhone showed up with the mp3s being able to play. don't buy a second hand one - you will need that is brand new so it's coded to your car. there was a few on ebay second hand but they won't work! good luck.

 

I have the same issue as above, CD Changer swapped out for Gateway 500s BT, and all the CD changer options (CD1 to CD6) are greyed out on the IDrive

have an enabler on order so hopefully will fix it
