Not sure why you think the E60 is any different from any other car. The E60 still uses normal wires to connect everything through out the car with the exception of the audio system. Any alarm including a remote start alarm could easily be added. Here is a wire color and location for every wire needed to add an aftermarket alarm with remote start function. Any installer should be able to obtain this information which would easily allow them to install any alarm into any E60.
WIRE COLOR POLARITY LOCATION
Battery RED (+) IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
Ignition 1 GREEN (+) IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
Starter 1 BLACK/YELLOW (+) IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
All Door Trigger BLUE/RED (-) AT MAIN DOMELIGHT
Trunk Trigger BROWN/WHITE (-) AT SWITCH IN TRUNK
Hood Trigger VIOLET/GREEN (-) AT SWITCH UNDER HOOD
Alarm Disarm DISARMS WITH UNLOCK
Alarm Arm ARMS WITH LOCK
Parking Lights BLACK (-) AT VEHICLE LIGHT SWITCH
WIRE COLOR POLARITY LOCATION
Battery RED (+) IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
Ignition 1 GREEN (+) IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
Ignition 2 GREEN (+) IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
Accessory 1 VIOLET (+) IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
Starter 1 BLACK/YELLOW (+) IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
Anti-Theft Type EWS II
Anti-Theft Descript AN RF SIGNAL ACTIVATED SYSTEM
Key Sense BROWN/GREEN (-) IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
Tachometer BLACK/YELLOW (AC) BEHIND INSTRUMENT CLUSTER IN HARNESS
Speed Sense BROWN/RED (AC) IN HARNESS FROM GAUGES
Parking Lights BLACK (-) AT VEHICLE LIGHT SWITCH
Brake Lights BROWN/GRAY (+) AT SWITCH ABOVE BRAKE PEDAL
Reverse Lights BLUE/YELLOW (+) DRIVER KICKPANEL IN HARNESS TO REAR OF VEHICLE
Horn BROWN/RED (-) AT STEARING COLUMN
Rear Defrost GRAY/BLACK

I came across this looking for "horn". 2 questions...
1- If i wanted to add an additional horn... therefore.. I can get the signal from the Brown horn wire under the steering column... and if so the polarity of it is a negative trigger?
2- If i wanted to add a proximity sensor and shock sensor to the OEM BMW alarm... would it be possible? meaning w/o the ridiculous DEI 6 changer siren and chirp
