My Ride: 2012 535i M Sport Package
Hey guys, I've been thinking about ordering a front German plate for my car (still advertising the dealer 
)...what do you think? 
I have the option of adding a front custom plate since the state of SC only requires a rear plate. do or don't? 
If yes, any cool ideas for the text?

My Ride:
The supply of licence plates is now very restricted in EU countries
as a measure to attempt to reduce vehicle identity theft. It doesn't
work, but it makes the rule-makers feel more comfortable.
AFAIK in Germany the licence plate is more than just an ID number,
the plate is linked directly to the owner and carries the endorsements
for insurance and DoT approvals. It must be detatched from the vehicle
and presented to the validating officer when requested - it is therefore
unlikely that a dealer would issue a plate without a good and valid
reason.
Things are a little more relaxed in the UK at present.

In many continental European countries the license plate is registered
with the owner person ID (e.g. social security ID number) and also
the Vehicle ID (the chassis serial number embossed somewhere in
the engine bay). In many cases the police patrol cars (e.g. here in
Finland) have online access to the national register and can check

Enjoy it if you decide to do it. I dont feel it cool to see cars in usa with euro plates. But that is my taste.
I envy you that you can avoid the front plate. Here in NY is ...you better have one or good luck
They look cool down there in euro..but here in USA

If South Carolina (I suppose) do not demand a front plate,
(that is so special compared to the rest of the civilisated world),
why don't you stick with that?

I think it's a great idea and would do the same. You could have "Bayern Gal" or "BMW Lady" for example!
