Hi all, Can anyone tell me the average cost to paint and install the M tech kit here in the NYC area? I've gone to two L.I. dealerships (YES I already know they are the most expensive place to go for anything) for comparative reference, and they have both quoted me about 2k for paint and labor. I was hoping to put out 1200 at the most! Is that realistic?

I can't say, but i got a bunch of things painted for 1400, (hood, left front fender (driver side), rear M5 bumper, Trunk, Trunk Finisher).

They might estimate that much, you would have to bring it in and ask.

The place name is Paul Petrone, in North Flushing, NY.

190-17 Station Road,
Flushing, NY 11358
Number is 718-939-8200

The main guy is Frankie.

He'll probably tell you to go in. And he might be packed with cars so I dont know how available he is.

Good luck.

Depends. I'm not sure exactly what comes with and M-tech kit. Labor rate is about $150 per hour. Then figure the paint cost, overspray if necessary, and installation...I'd think about $1,500 would be fair but again I don't know what comes with the M-tech kit. You'd probably get it done cheaper if you went outside of NYC.

$3,600 got my Camaro completely taken apart, repainted and, reassembled with an OEM Z28 spoiler, but that was not in NYC.

I would never go to a dealer for body work, unless it was under warranty.

Perfect Ten in West Bablyon. I've sent a bunch of members there and they do an outstanding job. The owners name is Matt. Tell him Calton sent you and he will take good care of you. Also, this is the place where all the M5 guys in the NY area go. His prices are fair and his work is Perfect, hence the name.
