Any one try the ITG air filters?
Also I have yet to crack the hood on my 08 535i (had it for 9 days) , but I saw one post saying they don't have the carbon filters, can any one else confirm?

Your piece of styrofoam looks just like Mark's, so I went to the garbage in the garage, and guess what--the piece from my car is the same shape! I guess it standard equipment... ![Laughing](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/laughing.gif)

Is it safe to remove the charcoal filter? I just wonder if it will hurt the engine or not

just removed my filter off my silver 07 530 and the first thing I noticed was how astonishingly loud the exhaust note became. I drive with my windows down all the time and never hear my exhaust but it became noticeably throatier with the removal. I didnt notice any hp gain but I did notice quicker responsiveness in 1st and 2nd. Took 5 min to remove but watch the clips, they are not very stable. Lost one. Worthwhile mod for sure!!

Removed mine.
No Styrofoam. In fact, it was really really clean.
Turned on my car...not a big difference except for the fact that i can hear the intake now. Before it was silent, now it sounds like it's pulling much more air.
We will see tomorrow on my drive if anything changes.
