My mistake; didn't realize we were talking pre-2006...

How do you bring an N52 engine up to 300hp?

Hmmm...I don't think you can do the BMS PowerBox and ECU tuning at the same time...not sure though.

Correct, the BMS powerbox, is an ECU tune itself. Even though it is technically a "piggyback" tune. Also correct is that there is no SC for the N52, only the M54 has this option. Still, I'd rather have the option of 300HP for ~$300-400 than having the option of 340HP for ~$10k.

Damn...looking at the specs for the ESS tune...The $900 price tag doesn't seem worth it

x30i 255/258hp models : +6HP, 8ft/lbs
x30i 272hp models : +3HP, 5ft/lbs

If you weigh like 300 lbs...just go on a diet to lose 100 lbs. and that will let you gain 10HP right there. Better for the car, and yourself...

For one thing: You are not likely to pay the $900 list price (seriously, who pays retail?)
Second: Which is the 272Hp 530I?
M54 = 225HP stock M54 Specs
N52 = 255HP stock N52 Specs
Which is the engine that produces 272HP?
