I did a BSW stage one upgrade on my old E46 w/HK's. They got a good product. I'm definetly looking at this one. Did you hear any noticable improvement in the low ranges?

I am happy to help fellow forum members, as I receive great help in return from everyone here.

My instructions are merely a supplement to BSW's instructions and video. I really wish they would publish a video on You Tube of an e60 installation, but Halston said they are having technical problems getting this accomplished.

If they expand on their written instructions, especially regarding the rear door & sound deadening application, that would help many of you.

Good Luck to those of you who purchased through the Group Buy! It may get me a few $$$ back from Halston.

Regarding the low end question; with my Logic 7 I thought there was too much bass, so I am happy to be able to lower the bass so I can here more crisp highs. Sound is so subjective, isn't it?

I was trying to bang these instructions out last night after a two hour trip home in yet another lovely snow storm. I didn't get home until after 8pm, blah, blah, blah. So, if anyone sees any spelling or grammer errors, don't hesitate to let me know. I plan to get a better photo of the bottom of the rear door where the screw is and update the PDF.

Great write up!

What do you use to heat up the back of the sound deadening material? I mean can you tell if you heat it enough?
Just wondering if a simple hair dryer will do or need more like a heat gun.

Heat gun or a hair dryer works great.

On the sound deadening front Kathy what you did is what you want to do. Adding mass to the panel and cover where there is no sound deadening. Glad you are enjoying the setup and I will get the instructions updated a bit. Thanks for the 'unbiased non-viral marketing review'

On the video front. I am fighting with YouTube. It believes I am uploading duplicates because all the door panel installs look the same. With that said expect to have videos up within the month. Going to be working from home a couple of days coming up so I can redo the videos and upload them to a separate account so we can get them hosted.

In the meantime we are looking into flash on the site to host the videos.

Kathy you did a GREAT job with the sound deadening You went above and beyond what is needed. I bet the interior is a little quieter as well!

I just used a simple hair dryer. I blew the material about 10 - 15 seconds, and it because very sticky. I placed the large sheet on the inside of the door panel and tried to cut neat templates. Then I took the backing off the material and sat it on a table and blew dried it, then affixed to the door panel. Very easy.

Just finished adding a couple of photos, but I had to delete another because I am hitting the 10MB file limit.

Here's an update to the Supplement I put together to BSW's Installation Instructions for the Stage 1 Speaker Upgrade Kit.

e60_Installation_of_BSW_Stage_1_Speaker_Upgrade.pdf

Again, I hope this helps all of you.

Off topic - now please find me a decent deal on some OEM #166 M5 wheels.
The best price I have found is $1,400 +shipping. Might as well buy new from Garry.
