I appreciate all of the responses I have received in regards to my clear tail lights, DUB badge, painted inserts, etc.
However, we are all enthusiasts here. None of the mods I have done are cheap aftermarket mods. My clear tail lights are OEM from Europe and I bought them at my BMW dealership. I had my inserts painted body color because the black insert looks like SH*T. I put the DUB badge on my car to represent the fact that I put 20" wheels on my car.
I am not a rap superstar, but definitely don't mind being mistaken for one. I love my BMW just as much, if not more, than everyone else. What I have done has not compromised the value of my E60, it has increased it.
Whether or not you choose to improve your E60 or not is up to you. Some people like their "straight from the showroom shit" and others know that improvements can be made.
Everywhere I go I get stopped and complimented on my E60. My car's appearance is FAR from that of a Honda Civic. How come people don't get criticized when they put body kits on their cars? It is just another mod.
Everyone's opinion is different. I don't criticize those of you who put you 18-inch, 10 year old BBS-looking wheels on your car, do I? Maybe you need to go out and purchase a copy of DUB Magazine and see for yourself the types of cars that wear the DUB badge.
Here are a few more shots of my E60. I am curious to see how ugly you all think it is. (This pic was taken prior to the clear tails being installed)

While I am a member of the more conservative group - red reflectors are considered a mod. by me (I agree the black insert looks like S*#@) - I think your car looks awesome. Not what I would drive - I like to cruise under the radar screen - I think you did a very nice job making your e60, YOUR E60. Should I see your car parked, I would spend considerable time checking it out. Trust me, any Honda owner that "rices" their car would love the end product to look that. Good for you & welcome

but.. it's just that my own tastes are more towards the performance tuner side... names like Hamann, ACS, etc.. rather than more street style....Giovanni, Fab Design, etc.......
The DUB world is definately a niche group in the world of Aftermarket tuning.. companies such as 310 Motoring and West Coast Customs... pushing that nuveau low-rider style..... which the European car modding scene is largely dominated by perfomance oriented, race-bred tuners...
I admit.. these sides are slowing realizing the beauty of one another.. but they are definatly different scenes... Hamann has wheels that are extremely heavy like my HM2's that are more looks than performance.......... their design is still from a performance heritage.....
Different style, different tastes.... happy modding
I have to agree that the clear taillights do make it look "ricey" but I think that the white is the best color to go with it. I am waiting on my Jet black 545i SMG and i was wondering if you guys think smoke out taillights would give the same effect. I don't even know if they offer the taillights in a smoked out color though.

I've seen the smoked taillights on e-Bay. I've looked if I can find them again but I can't. You will loose the flowing lines the same as with the white lights..
My thoghts on your car:
The rimms make the car look cheap
The rear white light makes your car look worst
The painted insert made it even wrost.
I am not trying to hit on you. But the E60 is a fine car if you know what to mod.
No argument that you use expensive stuff to mod your car..just not my taste.
White with Red-LED looks great..but please those rimms got to go.
my two cents.
