Big BHP Re Map

Hi, I have been offered a remap on my E60 353d. The last one they did was 372bhp & 580pft. Will the box & diff take this power. They have also offered to bypass the particle filter which they claim would take it even higher!!! The mapping is done on a rolling road & they are BMW specialist's. What do you think????
Many Thanks Tony.

its the gearbox / tranny I would be worried about I think 780nm should be fine on an LCI box but going above 800nm may push it...
As long as tolerances are not exceed on the gearbox / tranny, and its serviced reguarly I cant see why it would be a problem. On pre-lci (like mine) I know the gearbox / tranny grumbles if too much torque is going through it. The LCI has a stronger gearbox / tranny so you can push more bhp out of it as long as its kept within the tolerance.
Get it mapped and ask if they will let you have a run in period... if you start getting twitchy or a rumble from the gears then you may want to tone it done to a safer map.
With all things it will come down to how it is used and treated... just ensure you change the oil in it and you should be ok
Good luck and keep us posted on how it drives after the map!
Bypassing the DPF could be interesteing but as KAF has also mentioned what about MOT time? also that much torque throught he gearbox is it strong enough to handle it?
Would not be putting this kind of stress on your gearbox. Read somewhere that the first gen boxes were good for 600nm and the second gen boxes were good for 700nm. Now i might be wrong and i have a 535d. I think over time you would kill the auto box and as it reached high mileage it would die.
Be careful
Lots of fun though!
