OK.

I've been through this topic and the download PDF on Page 9 is only for the E39 and it is out of date.

The PDFs that I posted on Pages 18 and 19 (today) are the latest TIS docs from BMW. Many people have quoted the CORRECT part numbers for the AUX Retrofit. I just thought it would be handy for people to have the original PDFs

redondoman: This retrofit is being done by my BMW dealer next week prior to collection in December. I have this retrofit on my other cars which I did myself.

If you can't donwload it, do you want me to email it to you?

All the Best

Hobi

What does the error message say and who is "saying" it?

Adobe Acrobat won't open it and has the following message "There was an error opening the document. A file read error has occurred." The strange thing is that I had no problem with the E39 document. Anyway is seems to be downloading for everyone else so I will PM Hobi regarding this. I have my install set up with an independent BMW repair facility for 11/19/04. I have been having alot of problems trying to get any one to do the install, so I'll let you know how it goes.

Maybe you can try doing a right-click and selecting "Save As" to copy it to your computer first. From there, you can try opening it with Acrobat Reader...

redondoman so still no luck with AUX? is that independent bmw facility able to do version upgrades? if you want it really badly i would check with a different state maybe in california it not possible but some where else is, something like this i would rather have a dealer do it, i was in the dealership during the installation and literaly the take out the glove compartment and do some work with you stereo.

I am still having the same difficulty. My dealer says that the part is simply not approved for US installation, and therefore will 'void my warranty' on the electrical system. They refuse to do it until the FCC approves the modification here.

I think it is going to happen some day... just not for awhile. :bashwall:

New update! I think my continual nagging has worked a little! They ordered the part and are going to attempt an install on a stock 530i later this week. If they are successful, they will install it in mine!!
