Audio upgrade from Logic 7, without cutting original wiring?
I'm planning to upgrade my current Logic 7, possibly to the following:
My main criteria is to maintain original wiring. SQ rather than dB. Max budget is mid $1,000s. I have never done any BMW audio upgrade before. I consider myself handy enough. Did an extensive upgrade on a Civic 20 years ago
Questions:
- Alpine amp(s) or similar
- 12" single sub in trunk, using custom enclosure
- BSW speakers

Questions:
- What kind of output does the built-in Logic 7 amp have?
- Are there separate amps for the speakers and the subs under the seats?
- What kind of connectors should I buy to maintain original wiring? I saw the post from haugejan, but can't figure out what exact connectors I need to get.
- Does the head unit do any crossover functions?

2) No, just the one in the trunk
3) Sorry I can't name them
4) I believe the amp does
I'm in the middle of my project; BSW Stage I speaker upgrade for L7, Focal Solid 1 mono amp + Carpower Blackbass 10" sub in to the trunk.

Thanks for the responses so far. Still doing my research here. I'm browsing the audio threads, and still trying to gather the info I need.
Next questions:
Sorry if I look "lazy" for not finding the right threads myself to answer my questions. Believe me I tried!
It's just the info is so spread out it's hard to get my questions precisely answered.
Next questions:
- What kind of outputs does the L7 head unit have? i.e. is it preamp level or speaker level that goes to the L7 amp in the trunk?
- Are *all* the speakers driven by the L7 amp in the trunk, and none by the HU itself?
- I want to replace that amp, and go completely aftermarket. I'm hoping to find preamp level lines from HU to feed my amp(s). I see only two connectors on the amp: a big multicable one, and a smaller one with two fiber optic links (is this MOST?). I believe Technic's LOC connector that he's selling would only be useful if I only want to tap some channels to add aftermarket amp for sub only. Is my assumption correct?
