i have the 10 farad stinger cap which is doing nothing for me. i also use the trickle charger and followed those guidelines all along. What should i do? buy a bigger CAP? Should i keep searching for a HO alternator, any idea where to get one?

Do you think getting the BatCap power pack is sufficient for the amp im running, i know it will still strain the electrical system.

I would seriously question the need for something so loud. Just open up your boot into the car a bit more so you can turn the amp down.

I only see two options for you to explore as a solution:

1) Install a high output alternator with about 280+ amp max current in a way that does not damage the cars electronic system.
2) Find a more efficient way of getting the base into the cabin of the vehicle. Including using less power and a more efficient subwoofer system.

I suggest option #2. Lets say right now your subwoofer enclosure requires 1000 watts in order to reach a cabin pressure of 145 db ( SPL ). What if there was a more efficient subwoofer system that could reach 148 db with only 500 watts of power. That would be double the bass with half the wattage. Now that would be a good solution to your problem.

Do you have Sub's or Sub ?(I think you just have 1 because you have a mono amp) Trust me its somthing else your car can handle that amp just fine. I built tons of high audio soundsystems I think I have a MEMPHIS 1 farad cap around i can check for you. also lower the gains and try another speaker and see what happens Them jl 13"s are a beast and do need tons and tons of power. But like I said where doing the same setup Im killing my TI eclipse with 1,051 watts in a single ported box. how is your radio reception (off topic) since install off stereo? and did you change any of your high end speakers?

No just one sub and everything else is stock. Radio reception is same. It was bad when I had installed sws 8 under the seat long time ago.

Do you have pictures of your subwoofer box and how you have it installed in your trunk?

Hey aresh, did you solve the problem where your amp is turning off due to low-voltage? I recently installed my 1000/1 with a 12w7 into my 550 and am experiencing the same thing (amp voltage LED turns on then sound goes away). I don't know the solution yet. Hmm..

Do the guys that have the subs in the trunk experience rattling at all does any of the bass make it into the cab? i was trying to figure out audio upgrades and wasnt sure if i wanted to do the drop in dubs under the seat (earthquakes sws 8) or just one jl or something mounted in the back? Thoughts

I have 2 Kicker L7's 12" with the zx1500.1 amp its 1500 watts rms and a rockford fosgate 2 farad cap ... my cap protects up to 2000 watts haven't had a problem pushing it only thing is that during the summer it overheats and shuts off ... I'm about to cut the rear seat in the middle so that it can breathe and stop the whole rear of the car from vibrating and make more bass come into the car ... I drive with heavy bass alot of car alarms turn on lol and gets summons :/
