Does this help? (click on the pic to see a much larger version...)

Anyone know the part number of a good button-151097_z.jpg

Also, you can see slightly different (less confusing) descriptions here:
http://bmwfans.info/original/E60/Lim/520d-...51/ill-51_5135/

If you end up with an extra cutout, I wonder if you could use part #13 to cover it?

That is exactly the picture I was staring at for some time to figure out which part I needed. What I'm after is a GREY trim piece with two 2 cut outs for the SOS and the sunroof switches and for 2 mics inside the headliner for the voice and bluetooth. Also for the 520D am I looking at parts number 8 - 11 or 5 - 7.

There are two pieces there one with the interior and map light and the other with the mics and sos etc. So why do both those products depend on things like phone, sun roof etc.

I realize that that picture I posted was the one you were looking at but on realoem, it wasn't large enough to see the details. I suggest you look at the above picture full-size (not the downsized version -- keep in mind that Internet Explorer will also shrink the pic to fit the window) and figure out what part you need based on the number of cutouts pictured. (Don't worry about color, etc. yet.)

From there, post the number of the part from the diagram (not the actual part number) and then we can figure out what part you need to order to get the proper color...

But do I choose from parts numbers 8 to 11 or 5 to 7. That is my issue.

Double-check me here but it looks like parts 5-7 are for cars without the glass roof and parts 8-11 are for cars with the glass roof...

Radio I too thought it was crazy paying for the holes but if you look at the trim piece you'll notice that they are not just holes but actually the holes are within pits. These make the buttons more flush with the lower surface. Or maybe I'm just trying to be too OEM (perfectionist)
