Question is in the title. Mine still does not work, and I am not sure if anyone's does, or if BMW has released the "new" installation instructions for the US '06 models.

Option installed at the dealer. Works on many '05 cars and maybe even on '04 cars, but I haven't heard anything about '06s.

My Ride: 2006 530i - Sport - 6spd - Orient Blue with Auburn/Anthracite
I'm going in this Friday to have the aux input installed on my '06 530i and I'll report out on the success (or lack thereof) to this thread. Before I ordered the retrofit kit, I checked with BMWNA and they told me that it is "fully compatible with our 2006 model 530i vehicles", so I have high expectations of success.

Do a search , there was a mistake on the installation instructions at one stage, maybe they used the wrong ones for your car

I have a 2006 530i (Silver Gray, 6-speed, Sport, Nav), and had mine installed 2 weeks ago at Irvine BMW in Southern California. The software installation took longer than planned, but they did get it to work. Sound is great - much better than FM modulation. "Aux" shows up as an Entertainment Source in i-Drive. I've programmed one of my steering wheel buttons as "Next Entertainment Source", but for some reason, everything shows up but "Aux". I'll have the dealer check that out next time I'm in.
Bottom line...it does work, and work well. Installation and programming may take a while, but it does work.
