Never heard of it, but it would b cool as hell to see it done. The S62 is a GREAT engine, there's a reason why it's still used in racing. In the American LeMans series the Ganassi cars use it and so does the Turner Motorsports car - and that is a current M6!!!! They still dumped the V-10 S85 for the S62. Amazing engine.

yea i know i was actually looking at the turner motorsports racing page looking at the car specs and saw they even swapped it into the 94 m3 race car. you can even build one out of a 4.4l m62 heads rods and pistons and your own cheaper s62

and power output too your looking at 360 hp out of an engine with very little aftermarket as far as engine internals and stuff like that compared to the s62 which can be built out of a m62 with a very large aftermarket and i just don't want to do the oridnary or else i would of thought about swapping the v10 out of the m5 in but thats just boring

idk im just throwing it out there i thought it would be really cool im not gonna attempt it now still in college and working part time but i would deff attempt it when im making enough money to blow some on something like this. with the electronics im not to sure idk how much of the idrive is intertwined with the engine management i would think there is some but due to any service or any problem with the car reads up on the idrive display
