I have a 2004 525i. Does anybody know if your able to rewire the angle eyes to work with the daytime running lights.
I have seen upgraded brighter angle eyes claming to be able to use them as daytime running lights. I have the stock angle eye bulb. I just want the daytime running light with the angle eyes on too.

You can, but you may run into error lights.

Funny you asked... I just talked to my service rep at Crevier BMW in OC. He said they can program the car to run the Angel Eyes full time as DRL's but the cost is $150 bucks. Apparently it has to be hooked up to the computer to do it. I'm probably gonna do it too......

I think your SA is incorrect. Pre-LCI cars due to the design don't have bright angel eyes. And it doesn't make sense for BMW to program them as DRL.

The aftermarket ones change the rings to whiter color. The problem is--the aftermarket white light blends in with daytime light. This would make it appear less bright & washed out if you were to drive with the halos on. In addition, at night the white rings will blend in with xenon...making the rings even less noticeable.
